Game Of The Week: Kingmaker
Kingmaker: The Slots for Big Time Gamers
Some would say Big Time Gaming is still a giant in this community, but I’m sure plenty of people would disagree these days. They have certainly had their best days with new releases… but also some poor ones. Now they’ve released a new slot and it’s called Kingmaker.
Some would say it’s make or break for Big Time Gaming, especially after some of their recent games have been seen as a flop no names mentioned.
How it looks
Kingmaker comes with a medieval theme hence the name “King” and a huge variance on ways to win.
Played on a square gameboard, Kingmaker is a 5 reeled slot which uses the well-loved Megaways mechanic, meaning that on any given spin any reel may land anywhere between 2 and 7 symbols. The largest possible number of ways to win, therefore, would be if 7 symbols landed on each reel which would result in 16,807 (7x7x7x7x7) Megaways (Good Luck). You can bet from £0.20-£20.
Being set in medieval times ot gives you the feel of kings and queens. with the addition of dragons and other creatures giving a super fantasy setting. The slot has a gold border and a crown at the top where the Megaways are displayed for each spin. If theirs one thing Big Time Gaming are good at, it’s visuals.
How it plays
The game itself is really designed for the bonus hunters out there because we’ll be honest there isn’t much to be won on the base game unless you win a 5 of a kind. However, you’ll notice the game has 4 banners on side almost like house flags (game of thrones reference…) Every time you hit 5 of kind of these house symbols the multiplier in the banner will increase by 1x.
Now, this is where it becomes good, landing 3+ crown scatters will activate the free spins feature. 3 scatters Award = 7 Free Spins,4 Scatters Award = 12 Free Spins. If you’re lucky enough then 5 Scatters Award = 20 Free Spins. The 4 collected multipliers in the base game from your house banners will combine and be your starting win multiplier for your bonus spins. All free spins are played on max Megaways.
This feature can be retriggered if you land 3+ scatters.
As I mentioned before, Kingmaker is a fairly straightforward game, and this is reflected in the features. The base game benefits from gem win multipliers. These multipliers also come into play in a different way when you trigger the bonus round granting you those beloved spins that are free.
The game is simple to play and easy to understand. It’s one of the only games where you are left praying to not get the bonus so your multipliers can build. That being said it’s pretty damn impossible to trigger the bonus anyway.
Our verdict is it’s an enjoyable game. It’s shame that it’s nothing more than that. We are still awaiting some big from the Big Time Gaming guys to take their brand to the top again. It simplicity and chase of those multipliers still makes it a worthwhile game.0″ allowfullscreen=”allowfullscreen”>
